妖怪大辞典によるとだるだるまは、パッと見、縁起の良さそうなダルマだがその中にはだるそうな顔の妖怪。こいつにとりつかれると体がだるくなってしまう。今回はこたつの中でだら～んとしています。英語版の名前はDullumaです。「だるま」の発音に似ていて、「Dull」 の「鈍い」「どんよりした」の意味からのだじゃれですね。

Dulluma is a member of the Tough Clan. The outer shell resembles a proud daruma doll but inside is a lethargic yokai. Anyone possessed by this yokai becomes lethargic. This depiction is of Dulluma shedding its outer casing and dozing off in a kotatsu. The English name is a play-on-word of [dull] & the Japanese name [daruma].
